Rituals and Spell crafting

Updated: Jul 22, 2020

For many of us rituals are an important part of our path. Spellcrafting as well. I am one of those people, however I do not always have the time to make it a priority as I should, I am trying to get that focus back as much as Possible.

So what are Rituals? Well, most of us know what rituals are. Rituals are defined as the established form for a ceremony. This can be something as simple as what we do every day as a daily “ritual” such as getting up in the morning and doing stretches every day, or before bed, doing something such as lighting a candle and enjoying some down time. Rituals in the pagan sense are days and times set aside to work with our Deities for a specific outcome. This can be in the form of Moon rituals, to observances of the wheel of the year. Mind you, rituals can be as simple as lighting a candle and focusing, to a full on circle with all the bells and whistles, as long as your intention is there!

Now what about Spellcrafting? Spellcraft is the art or ability to cast or work spells, this is also known as majick. which is spelled with a "K" on the end to differentiate this kind of magick from prestidigitation, or sleight of hand performed by stage magicians.

Spellcraft uses the vibrations of natural things around you plus your own vibrations to accomplish a desired goal. Colors, herbs, incense, etc, all have vibrations that affect the universe. This has been proven by the physicists of our modern age, but was known to the ancient magicians already.

I delve into this pretty thoroughly in my Wicca 101 course if you want to know more about spell crafting and the ins and outs of basic witchcraft.

Personally I write my own rituals and spells, with the help of my trusty Llewellyn's Complete Book of Correspondences: A Comprehensive & Cross-Referenced Resource for Pagans & Wiccans (an amazing book indeed)

The reason why I, personally like to write my own rituals and spells is because it puts my energy and intent into it. I also keep them in my book of shadows which also has my energy and intent in it. I find that pre-written rituals and spells, sometimes do not work for me. However, if you have a hard time and are not sure where to go you can for sure have someone you know and trust write the rituals and spells for you for your specific need. I do this for quite a few people, and it does help them, I would be more than happy to write one for you if you need one. Rituals and spell crafting can be so fun and rewarding, it helps learn more about correspondences and different deities and how they work, just be aware that there are no technical rights and wrongs, the only thing you would need to worry about is karmic law, and imposing your will onto someone else. The old “be careful what you wish for” can sometimes come up and bite us and be a disaster.

Always remember that rituals and spell work should always be for the highest good.
